Illuminate the darkest seas with the new Bell & Ross BR 03-92 Diver Full Lum

Since the past few launches, Bell & Ross has been obsessed with lume. They used it to coat dials, combine them onto straps, and even put some on their sapphire crystals for good measure. Now, the next step in this obsession, and perhaps the one that makes the most sense, comes in the form of a dive watch – the Bell & Ross BR 03-92 Diver Full Lum.

Yes, as the name suggests, they are now offering their iconic square diver with a dial fully coated in SuperLuminova. The first thing that I noticed, however, is not the green glowing dial but rather how the pale green colour of the material in the light gives this diver quite a different look compared to the rest in the same collection. Ever since the launch of the BR 03-92 Diver collection, the brand has tried to make these rugged watches as elegant as possible, oftentimes using darker colours for the dial. With this Full Lum, the dial takes on the colour of C5 SuperLuminova leaving no doubt that it is a tool watch through and through.

This ruggedness extends to the indices as well which are made from black metal appliques and filled with a slightly different, more yellowish C3 SuperLuminova. The differences in the light might not be that obvious but according to some research, C3 is brighter and longer-lasting compared to C5 SuperLuminova which suggests that in the dark you may see a slight contrast in green to let the indices stand out against the dial. The case is 42mm in width made from matte black ceramic, the movement is the self-winding calibre BR-CAL.302 and it is water-resistant to 300m.
