Tudor’s Black Bay Fifty-Eight appears in Navy Blue and the watch crowds go wild!

Apparently, distributors are going through their stock fast.

Never have I ever seen the watch world go so crazy over a new colour addition to an existing collection. But I can’t say I am too surprised considering that the collection in question is the ever-popular Tudor Black Bay Fifty-Eight and the colour in question is a rich navy blue that has a long withstanding tradition within the Tudor brand. So, without further ado, here is our first look at the new Tudor Black Bay Fifty-Eight “Navy Blue”.

Just as a refresher, the Black Bay Fifty-Eight was launched back in 2018 and offered Tudor Black Bay fans a smaller and more compact size of 39mm. The name was derived from the year 1958 when Tudor launched their first 200m dive watch, the reference 7924 or “Big Crown”. The first BB58 came with a gilt dial and a red triangle marker on the black bezel, offering a vintage-inspired look to match the watch of the past.

Since then, the BB58 has received glowing praise from enthusiasts around the world, and reportedly, these beauties have even become quite hard to find, thus giving them a bit of a mark-up on second-hand watch sites. Sounds familiar? Well, I can imagine that Tudor authorised distributors worldwide are getting quite a few phone calls as the BB58 in “Navy Blue” is already available immediately following this announcement.

The watch itself has everything you loved in the first piece, a 39mm case in 316L stainless steel, the in-house calibre MT5402 with a 70-hour power reserve and the snowflake hands. The new bit is the gorgeous matte blue dial and a matching bezel in anodised aluminium.

In addition to the steel riveted bracelet, the Tudor Black Bay Fifty-Eight “Navy Blue” will also be paired with a fabric strap option made in partnership with Julien Faure. Julien Faure is a 150-year old family-owned company that makes these straps on 19th century Jacquard looms.

The Tudor Black Bay Fifty-Eight “Navy Blue” has an MSRP of CHF 3,500 (MYR 15,860) on a bracelet and CHF 3,200 (MYR 14,500) on a fabric strap.
